What is Humane Education?
Instructional Design Process

Analysis
I reviewed APHE's strategic goals, membership needs, and existing materials. Through discussions with APHE leadership, I confirmed the need for a foundational learning experience that would support professional development and membership growth.
Design
I created a detailed storyboard aligned with APHE’s style guide, integrating its brand colors and fonts. Learning objectives focused on defining humane education, demonstrating its relevance in multiple societal contexts, and encouraging learners to apply its principles in their work.
Development
Using Articulate Storyline, I built a SCORM-compliant course incorporating narration, drag-and-drop interactions, and knowledge checks. Utilized Canva to design a downloadable completion badge that learners receive upon completion of the course. The course followed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, with high-contrast layouts, alt text for images, closed captioning, and full keyboard navigation to support diverse learner needs.
Implementation
The module was deployed to APHE’s membership portal and promoted through member communications and professional networks.
Evaluation
Learner engagement was assessed through completion data, knowledge check results, and participant feedback.
